CAREER COACHING OF YOUNG TALENTS
It takes more than talent to succeed in music. Maybe it always has, but today's musicians need to be more creative than ever when it comes to their careers. Musicians need to use the full range of their skills in making a place for themselves in the changing music business. They need guidance on managing their careers, on how to promote themselves and turn dreams into reality. Career-development programmes at music universities, academies and conservatories are needed more than ever! Music universities, academies and conservatories should try to encourage a business spirit among students by adding instruction in business and career support for their students. All music students should be required to double major in business. The music program teaches them how to play music, but the business program will teach them how to make a living performing music. Let's try to get them out of the clouds from time to time so they can at least be exposed to what it means to, for example, understand this rapidly expanding world of internet marketing, driving traffic, creating an audience, and learning what it means not just to be an artistic leader, but a business leader also. Through workshops and seminars organized in cooperation with music universities, academies and conservatories, we advice young talents regarding biography, photos, repertoire, website, social media activities and artist managements.
